Kjetil Holden Svensson

Senior Analyst, PwC

In the summer of 2010, Kjetil Svensson landed a summer job with the renowned consultancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). By the time he had completed his master's programme in business a year later, he had already signed up with the firm.

PricewaterhouseCoopers is the largest of the Big Four accounting and consulting firms, the others being Deloitte, Ernst & Young, and KPMG. The firm has more than 180,000 employees in 158 countries worldwide.

Kjetil got to know the firm and to make valuable contacts during his two-month summer internship. The combination of the summer job and his finance specialization secured him a job before he had completed his studies.

A sound and exciting career start

Kjetil works as a senior analyst with PwC Deals, which involves making valuations in connection with corporate acquisitions, disposals, and mergers. He also has responsibility for making purchase price allocations and financial models.

- The best aspect of my job is the variety; I get to work with many different and exciting firms and industries. We also have a very good social environment in the division where I work, says Kjetil.

When he was offered the opportunity to join PwC, he was in no doubt that it would provide him with valuable experience and would open new doors in the future.

- I chose to start with PwC Deals because the position provides me with broad industry experience and the chance to develop highly specific expertise. My expertise develops for every week that goes by, and I’m convinced that this will help further my career with PwC and make me attractive to other firms when I start looking for new jobs in the future, says Kjetil.
