Chinese Yiding Zhang chose BI Norwegian Business School based on its good reputation, particularly in the field of finance. She really enjoyed the student life in Norway, so much that she started working for the Norwegian company DNV GL.

As a MSc in Business graduate Yiding is very happy with her choice of both programme and school.

- The MSc in Business programme has a good mix of courses covering many important fields which in turn gave me better knowledge and competence in business and thus provides me a great variation of career opportunities, she says.

Working in Norway and the world

Straight after graduation Yiding found herself in DNV GL as a trainee. She explains that she had a foot in the door from her time at BI.

- I did a BI Internship with DNV GL during my last year. After completing the internship, I applied for their global management trainee program and got it.

As a Global Finance and HR Trainee her surroundings often change. She gets to work in different departments of the company, all over the world. Through her position she meets a lot of different people and encounters a wide specter of tasks. To manage this, Yiding have to be versatile.

- The varied and comprehensive master programme gave me good knowledge and competence when facing different tasks within accounting, finance, HR and much more. I also have to be open minded, flexible and good communication skills are critical. Thankfully, I got all this at BI, she says.

The programme has a good mix of courses covering many important fields of business. This provides a great variation of career opportunities

– Talk to the students

With a great start to a promising career, Yiding has some advices for others who are considering BI.

- Talk to a current student or a BI graduate, they are all nice and willing to share their experience with you. Also, if you have the chance, visit BI on Career Day, you will get the possibility to meet with company representatives and hear what they say about BI students and graduates.
